The motif on this notebook was painted by a Gond artist from Madhya Pradesh.
Gond is a centuries-old art form practiced by the second largest tribal community of India - The Gonds from Central India. Traditionally painted to decorate the mud walls of their houses, it was only in the 1980s that a group of artists took to paper, acrylic paints and canvas. Today, many talented Gond artists' works can be found in art galleries across the world.
